Charity Group Looking To Build New Barn For Therapeutic Riding Clients

Kids with disabilities have been getting horseback riding therapy for a number of years in the Saint John area and now the charity behind it is looking for a bigger and better barn.

Shining Horizons Therapeutic Riding Association is in the midst of a $2.5 million fundraising campaign and Kent Grass says to date the Saint John community has shown its compassion with $1.5 million already raised.

It handles up to 14 youth and 56 adults and family members who come to watch the kids smiles as they ride.

“They are looking to build a new 156 ‘ x 96’, eight stall barn, with an indoor riding area and observation room for the parents and family members to watch the therapy and stay comfortable, ” says Grass.
