As this blizzard bears down on the province Deputy Chief Joe Armstrong of the Saint John Fire Department says they’re keeping a close watch on the weather and are prepared to open up any warming shelters should the need arise.
He says if there’s a power failure, then they’d active their Emergency Operations Centre.
Armstrong tells us people are for the most part adhering to the suggestions by emergency crews to keep off the roads and stay inside and hopes they continue to do that as the storm sweeps through the province.
He says people at home should make sure they have a back-up supply of water so, in the event that something happens with the city’s water supply, you have enough water to get you through the storm.
