STORM CENTRAL: Avoid Driving If You Can

The storm forcing the closures of some highways and a warning to stay off others.

Highway 2 (the TransCanada Highway) is closed between Moncton and the Nova Scotia border until further notice.

You are advised to stay off Highway 2 between Fredericton and Moncton, Route 7 between Fredericton and Saint John, and Highway 1 between St. Stephen and Sussex becuase of poor visibility and blowing snow.

The no-travel advisory also applies to Routes 8 and 11.

There is a winter parking ban in effect for the towns of Rothesay and Quispamsis.

UPDATED – 4:40pm

The RCMP say Highway 2 between Moncton and Nova Scotia has re-opened.
