Federal approval of the Sisson Mine project near Fredericton hasn’t lessened the concerns of the Conservation Council of New Brunswick.
Tracy Glynn of the Conservation Council says not enough information has been released about how the environment is going to be protected. The Conservation Council has filed a Request for Information.
She points out the province has a list of 40 conditions but the company has not divulged how it’s going to meet them.
Glynn warns mine tailings can destroy waterways and fish habitat as happened in B-C back in 2014 and there’s also a risk of arsenic being released..
