Police are asking motorists to drive safely, remain alert, and be very patient during the REV3 St. Andrews 2017 Triathlon this weekend.
On Sunday, July 9th, traffic diversions and road closures will be set up around Charlotte County from 6am to 4pm in the afternoon.
Between Exit 9 in St. Stephen, and Exit 25 in Waweig, Route 1 will be reduced to 2-way traffic in the westbound land. The Eastbound lane will be closed to motorists.
Bayview Drive in St. Andrews, and Route 127 in Bayside will be closed to all but local traffic.
Exit 39 in Bocabec-Chamcook will be the only way to access the town of St. Andrews from Route 1.
Businesses and attractions in the town of St. Andrews will remain open to the public, but drivers should be prepared to stop and expect delays.
Cpl. Jayson Hansen of the St. Andrews RCMP tells us, “The safety of the athletes, spectators, visitors, and all motorists is our chief concern. It will be great to see so many people attending this event in Charlotte County, and police are asking all motorists to remain alert and patient and to look out for others so that all can enjoy this event. “
