The New Brunswick Court of Appeal is going to hear Devin Morningstar’s appeal to overturn his first degree murder conviction today.
Back in November, after 21 hours of deliberation, a jury found Morningstar guilty of murder and arson in relation to the brutal killing of 18-year old Baylee Wylie.
Morningstar is currently serving a life sentence with no chance of parole for 25 years.
After his trial, his mother Tina said they would be pursuing an appeal, with the hope being an overturned guilty verdict, and a new trial.
