A Saint John Sea Dogs forward has set a new franchise record for most goals recorded in a single season.
William Dufour scored his 47th and 48th goals of the season in Saint John’s 5-1 win over the Cape Breton Eagles on Saturday.
That surpassed the 47 goals Danick Gauthier scored for the Sea Dogs a decade ago during their 2011-12 season.
In total, Dufour has recorded 48 goals and 48 assists for 96 points in 54 games played this season.
The Sea Dogs still have 12 games left in the regular season, including six home games.
Their next action is Wednesday night as they host the Gatineau Olympiques.
With two goals this afternoon, William Dufour has passed the record for most goals in a single season by a Sea Dog.
