Elected Officials In K-V Take Cover

A cone of silence has descended among elected officials in the Kennebecasis Valley.

Rothesay Mayor Nancy Grant and Quispamsis Mayor Gary Clark are keeping their heads down about the controversy rocking the Kennebecasis Regional Police Department. Both Clark and Grant are not commenting amid allegations of sexual harassment and outgoing Chief Steve Palmer being quoted as saying the culture within the Police Department needs to change.

Rothesay Councillor Matt Alexander, who chairs the Board of Police Commissioners, tells us the Police Commission doesn’t comment on personnel matters.

The reaction on social media is one of disappointment at the goings on and the suggestion that maybe it’s time for a woman to be named the new Police Chief in the K-V.
