Emergency Responders Face Tough Time Too During Blizzard

It’s a tough day for emergency responders as well.

RCMP Staff Sergeant Jeff Johnston recommends motorists stay off the road unless absolutely necessary.

If you do get into an accident, he says the weather slows down their response time.

“Our ability as emergency responders to respond, to assist, including the plows is difficult and will take us some time to get to you,” says Johnston.

He says they’ve had reports so far today from people who are getting stuck on highways because of snow drifts additionally, there have been accidents because of zero visibility out on the roads.

Many motorists are unable to see the vehicles in front of them.
