Expectations High For Riptide

The Saint John Riptide basketball team is off to a good start, winning its last three games.

Although he could have made more money elsewhere, Anthony Stover signed with the Saint John Mill Rats of the National Basketball League last season and was named Defensive Player of the Year after setting a league single season record with 132 blocked shots.

Stover is back this year. He played his college ball at UCLA with its legendary basketball tradition and where expectations were high for excellence on the court.

Stover says he will not consider this season to be a success if the Riptide don’t win the league title.

The Riptide take on the Niagara River Lions tonight at Harbour Station with tipoff at 7:00.
