This is April Fool’s Day and this is the time when a lot of fees and taxes change with most increasing.
The Saint John Parking Commission says beginning today the hourly rates have risen from $1.50 to $1.75 per hour at several off-street lots.

Sydney Street Lot (booth attendant)
Trinity Royal, Next to Royal Bank
Union Street Lot
Canada Games Aquatic Centre
St. Patrick’s Street Lot
Canterbury Street Parking Garage and Charlotte Street
The daily maximum at the two lots at the Coast Guard Building on Water Street and behind Service New Brunswick on Sydney Street that have booth attendants will remain at $10 per day. All on-street metered parking will remain at $2.00 an hour.
The province is also raising several fees. The cost of a marraige licence will be going up from $100 to $115.
