The Point Lepreau Nuclear power plant will be taken offline starting today for about seven weeks, to complete regularly scheduled maintenance.
More than 600 contractors and tradespeople from across the province will carry out the maintenance.
Despite the cost of shutting down, this work is projected by NB Power to save up to $3 million annually.
