Even though he hasn’t made it official, Kevin O’Leary, formerly of the TV program Dragon’s Den, sounds like he’s just about ready to run for the leadership of the federal Conservative Party.
O’Leary doesn’t see Prime Minister Trudeau hitting it off with incoming U.S. President Donald Trump, likening it to Bambi going up against Godzilla.
O’Leary says his plan is to expand the Conservative Party’s base by 20 per cent and win a majority government. He argues there`s a 60 to 70 per cent chance Prime Minister Trudeau`s Liberal government can lose the next federal election because he`s so offside with where he`s taking the country, pointing to the carbon tax without knowing what the economic ramifications will be.
He adds there are too many leadership candidates in the field to have a real debate. The best you can hope for is a sound bite.
