The Canadian Taxpayers Federation is calling for an independent review of property tax concessions granted big industry in the province.
There’s one estimate that the provincial government will lose out on $24 million this year because of them.
The Federation’s Atlantic Director Kevin Lacey calls the tax breaks unjust and should be eliminated.
Premier Gallant points to his government agreeing with a request from Common Council to get ride of the property tax concession that was granted Canaport LNG amounting to an estimates $6.5 million dollars annually.
