In the NHL playoffs, Sidney Crosby scored two goals in 52 seconds and Nick Bonino got the winner in Pittsburgh’s 3-2 win over Washington in the opener of their series…..Erik Karlsson’s goal from an almost impossible angle with 4:11 left in the third period gave Ottawa a 2-1 win over the New York Rangers.

The Sea Dogs take on Chicoutimi tonight in game 5 of their “Q” League semi final which is tied at 2 games each. Gametime is 7:00 at Harbour Station. Sea Dogs forward Nathan Noel has agreed to a three-year contract with the Chicago Blackhawks. He scored 24 goals with 26 assists for 50 points in 52 games this year.

In the Majors, Masahiro Tanaka threw a three hitter and outdueled Chris Sale as the New York Yankees shut out the Boston Red Sox 3-0……St. Louis won a day-night doubleheader from the Toronto Blue Jays, winning the opener 8-4 in 11 innings on a grand slam homer by Chris Carpenter and the nightcap, 6-4. Washington finished its road trip with a record of 9 and 1 after blasting Colorado 16-5. During the road trip, Bryce Harper hit .529. In other play, it was Atlanta 7 NY Mets 5….Los Angeles Dodgers 5 San Francisco 1 (10 innings)…..Cleveland 4 Houston 3…..Arizona 6 San Diego 2…..Philadelphia 3 Miami 2….Seattle 2 Detroit 1 and the Los Angeles Angels 2 Oakland 1.

In the NBA playoffs, DeMar DeRozan scored 32 points as the Toronto Raptors squandered a 25 point lead late in the third quarter before holding on for a 92-89 win over Milwaukee to win the series 4 games to 2. San Antonio over memphis 103-96 to win that series 4 games to 2.

The Clerveland Browns selected defensive end Myles Garrett of Texas A&M as the first overall pick in this year’s NFL draft. Garrett has been compared to Julius Peppers.
