Friday Morning Sports For May 26th

A real nail biter in the Stanley Cup playoffs as Chris Kunitz scored for the second time at 5:09 of the second overtime to give the defending Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins a 3-2 win over Ottawa in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference final. The first game of the Stanley Cup final will be played Monday night in Pittsburgh.

It’s do or die tonight for the Saint John Sea Dogs as they take on the Erie Otters to see which team advances to Sunday’s Memorial Cup final against the Windsor Spitfires.

In New Brunswick Senior Baseball, the Saint John Alpines beat the Moncton Fisher Cats 10-3. The Alpines are on the road tomorrow in Charlottetown for a doubleheader.

LeBron James scored 35 points and passed Michael Jordan to become the NBA’s all-time playoff scoring leader as Cleveland beat the Boston Celtics 135-102 for their third straight Eastern Conference title. The Cavs will again take on the Golden State Warriors for the championship for the third straight season.
