The Greater Saint John Field House project is getting a big financial shot in the arm, a move that will save the city of Saint John $855,000 at the same time.
The Federation of Canadian Municipalities has come up with $1.7 million in funding and Mayor Don Darling says it means less money is required from the city because in order to get the funding the city would be allowed to cut its contribution by fifty percent.
Mayor Darling says this means the $855,000 they are saving will allow for capital dollars to be spent in other areas.
