Premier Brian Gallant is being accused of trying to stifle debate and ram things through the Legislature.
The charge being made by Saint John Lancaster M-L-A Dorothy Shepherd which is why she is attempting to get a debate on the hot button issue of abortion.
The Premier has said the changes, which go into effect next month, don’t require a vote. They will make getting an abortion in hospitals easier with the previous restrictions lifted. Pro-abortion advocates still want abortions to be performed at private clinics.
Shepherd goes so far as to say the new Liberal government is the most heavy handed and secretive we’ve ever had.
