With the news Carleton Victoria Liberal candidate Andy Harvey and two members of his family have been charged with defrauding the province out of more that $5,000, Liberal Leader Brian Gallant tells CHSJ News he was suprised to learn of the charges.
Gallant further said Harvey has been suspended as a candidate until he’s cleared of all the charged. If convicted, Gallant says, the ban will be permanent.
The Liberal Leader also expressed disappointment he wasn’t informed of the charges sooner.
Andy Harvey is the owner of Harvey Farm & Forest Ltd, a councillor for the village of Bristol, and serves of the board of directors of the Carleton Co-operative Ltd.
