Greenpeace Predicts Public Support For Proposed Pipeline Will Go Down

Trans Canada has decided not to build an export terminal in Quebec as part of the Energy East pipeline project, according to a report in La Presse.

Greenpeace has responded by saying it means oil from the tar sands in Alberta would be shipped directly to Saint John.

Keith Stewart of Greenpeace is now questioning why Quebec would still support the project when the province will derive no economic benefits with the oil just passing through.

He also predicts public support will decline as the proposed pipeline is further scrutinised.
