Provincial Health Minister Ted Flemming giving assurances an aircraft will be on the ground ready for medical emergencies on Grand Manan if need be. Questions have been raised about what’s going to happen in the short term following Saturday’s plane crash.
The M-L-A for Fundy-The Isles-West Saint John Rick Doucet concedes the possibility of something like this happening was not foremost on the minds of people on Grand Manan in spite of the small plane having to take to the air in bad weather if there was an emergency..
Doucet says the pilot who died, Klaus Sonneberg had a passion for flying.
As for a cause, there’s nothing obvious for investigators to go on. The investigation could take a year to complete.
