Heritage Building To Become ‘The Wheelhouse Of Waterloo Village’

It’s been everything from a pharmacy to a tea room and now the more than 100-year-old red brick building at 36 Richmond Street is going to become The Wheelhouse of Waterloo Village.

Local accounting firm Adams Green has bought the building with plans to not only house its headquarters but look for tenants and people working in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors.

“We currently do a bit of work with some of the organizations that are in that area, so this seemed like a natural step for us to build on what they’re already doing,” says vice-president Owen Green.

Green co-founded Adams Green with his wife, Haley, and he says they fell in love with the building and saw its potential as soon as they discovered it.

“The second thing, as I mentioned, is the proximity to some of the organizations that we’re working with now and who are doing amazing things,” he says. “We just want to be a small part of helping build on that momentum that they have going in that area.”

Green says they will offer office space to rent and monthly memberships for shared workspaces and their hope is to be in there by mid-June.
