Flooding was a common occurrence in New Brunswick in 2015 and that means a lot of damaged basements due to both water and sewage back-ups.
As a result, homeowners could end up seeing their insurance rates rise.
The Vice-President in the Atlantic Region for the Insurance Bureau of Canada Amanda Dean says insurance companies have to take a look at a number of things, when it comes to setting rates.
Dean says it’s good to check with your insurance company to find out what and how much insurance coverage you have, to ensure that you are protected, if flooding or a sewage back-up does occur.
