There will soon be a new Board Chair for the Horizon Health Network after the resignation of Grace Losier earlier this week.
Losier, who is also Mayor of Grand Bay-Westfield, says she heard a message from an employee from the Health Minister saying she could resign or be fired, so she decided to go out on her own terms.
Our newsroom asked why she thought this happened?
Losier stated, ” I suspect it’s purely political, but I will also say the Minister has not just the right but the responsibility to run his own department and he determined that it was not going to be with me.”
Losier says enjoyed working for the province and says she has received all sorts of positive comments from all of her other board members, calling it the rewarding thing through all of this.
In a statement from the Health Minister, Hugh Flemming says he would like to thank Grace Losier for her service as both a member and chair of the Horizon Health Network’s board of directors.
