Fredericton’s Tristan Horncastle is one of 8 up and coming Canadian artists in the Rising Star category for the Canadian Country Music Awards in September.
Horncastle says his family is very musical and he began singing solos in church at the age of 6.
He says he grew up listening to classic country like Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings and George Jones.
The C.C.M.A.’s are in Halifax this year on September 13th.
Horncastle is competing against 7 other artists in the Rising Star category including Lindsay Ell and Steven Lee Olsen.
