Moncton And Dieppe To Make Bid For 2021 Francophone Games

It’s now official…

The cities of Moncton and Dieppe are partnering in a bid to host the 2021 edition of the Francophone Games.

Matthieu Doucette is leading the regional bid committee.

“The Games will attract 3,000 people and more than 60 countries will participate. There are athletic/sporting events but there are eight cultural events too such as dance, literature, music etc.,” he notes.

Doucette says the region is in a good position to host the games with most facilities required already in place such as Moncton Stadium.

The province of New Brunswick will be a leading partner along with the cities of Moncton and Dieppe, and the Université de Moncton.

The federal government will also be asked to join the funding partnership.
