“I Offer My Complete And Unreserved Apology” – MLA Chris Collins

Moncton Centre MLA Chris Collins has offered an apology for anything he said that offended anyone including the individual who made a harassment complaint against him.

Collins issued a statement following a recent decision by the province’s legislative administration committee who ordered him to write an apology letter to the complainant and to complete anti-harassment training.

Out of respect for those involved, Collins says the exact details of this matter will not be released.

The former Speaker of the House adds it has been a difficult four months for both him and his wife Lisette and thanked his spouse for her love and unwavering support.

He also thanked constituents, residents of Moncton and friends for their support and singled out his lawyer T.J. Burke and former Liberal cabinet minister Mike Murphy.

The former Liberal member who now sits as an independent, Collins concluded by saying he hasn’t decided yet if he’ll run again as an MLA in this September’s provincial election but he added that he and his wife will make that decision and not Brian Gallant.

The full statement can be found below.
