Because he’s not a fisherman, Former Liberal Energy Minister Jack Keir is not a big fan of Larry’s Gulch but he does see its value.
While in the Graham Government as a cabinet minister, Keir says he likely visited the fishing camp two or three times a summer between 07 and 09.
Keir disagrees with selling it calling it an invaluable tool for the Department of Economic Development adding he has seen the opporotunities that Larry’s Gulch has presented.
He says it gives the province a chance to host people that like fly fishing in a location with some of the best fishing in the world.
He says those people sometimes happen to be CEO’s of companies and want to invest in New Brunswick with some
Keir says while an MLA he donated rods for Larry’s Gulch to a few charities in his riding and they regulary fetched between $1000 and $1500.
