Liberal MLA Disappointed To Hear Of Irving HQ Delay

Most Saint Johnners likely don’t know much, if anything, about the Provincial Planning Appeal Board. That’s where the appeal of the proposed Irving Oil headquarters building was filed.

Provincial Economic Development Minister Rick Doucet says the Appeal Board is independent but makes clear where he stands.

He says they are all very disappointed this job-creating project is being delayed by complaints from anti-development individuals in the city.

Doucet says Irving Oil went out of its way to accomodate what the city wanted.

He says the business community and the general public want this project.
