Liberals Promise Investments In Roads, Infrastructure

MONCTON, N.B. – If elected next month, the provincial Liberals are promising to spend $900-million over the next six years to fix up roads and other strategic infrastructure.

Party leader Brian Gallant made the commitment alongside the Trans Canada Highway in Moncton this morning.

Gallant claims the investment would create and sustain more than 17-hundred jobs each year and give New Brunswick the infrastructure it needs to compete economically.

“Short-term investments in infrastructure and in our roads, done in a very strategic and targeted fashion, will stimulate the economy and get people working right away.”

Gallant says the provincial economy desperately needs a boost after four years of ‘reckless’ cuts that have depressed job growth.
