People’s Alliance Party Calls For Referendum On Shale Gas

The leader of the People’s Alliance Party is confident of doing well in the September 22nd provincial election because people, by and large, are fed up with the Liberals and Conservatives.

Kris Austin tells CHSJ News the People’s Alliance is not afraid of tackling hot button issues like language, claiming the requirement to have a bilingual paramedic with each ambulance is causing a rift within Ambuslance NB.

Austin says the People’s Alliance would like to see a provincewide referendum held on the fate of shale gas development and a second oil refinery built for oil from Alberta if and when the pipeline is constructed instead of it just being shipped through Saint John and refined overseas.

Former Liberal M-L-A Leroy Armstrong will be running for the People’s Alliance in the riding of Sussex-Fundy-St. Martins.
