The Energy East pipeline project will be delayed following changes at the Federal level to the way large projects are assessed.
For this project, it means adding more consultation with indigenous people and adding three temporary members to the National Energy Board.
Saint John-Rothesay MP Wayne Long disagrees with those who believe the delay is a bad move.
He says for an extra 5 to 6 months if we can guarantee that the pipeline is going to happen he thinks it’s well worth it.
Long says he’s 100 per cent confident this pipeline will be going across the country.
