Lost Driver Arrested For Impaired Driving

An alleged impaired driver came right to Saint John police on Wednesday night.

Officers were on-scene of a single-vehicle crash on Highway 1 eastbound just before Harbour Bridge, which happened around 8:10 p.m.

Sgt. Greg Oram said a vehicle with Ontario plates pulled up around 8:50 p.m. and the driver asked for directions to Fredericton.

Oram said officers suspected the driver was impaired by alcohol. Police said he failed a roadside screening test and a breathalyzer test.

A 59-year-old Ontario man was held for court Thursday morning.
