Mayor Of Rothesay Reflects Back On 2018

The Town of Rothesay had some low points in 2018 but also some nice high points.

Mayor Nancy Grant says the devastating flooding in the spring caused a lot of damage but something good eventually come out of it the deal with Saint John over the road into Kennebecasis Park.

It will see the Town take over maintenance of that stretch of road for 15 years. Mayor Grant tells our newsroom work on the Eriskay Road was also a big highlight.

“It’s a long street that leads straight to Rothesay Elementary School and our five-year sidewalk plan calls for priority on sidewalks in neighbourhoods where kids walk to school, and where there are a lot of seniors who would like to connect to the major thoroughfare,” stated Mayor Grant.

Speaking of seniors, the Town of Rothesay was designated as an age-friendly community and Grant says they hope to have a newly renovated space in town hall open in March that will be an age-friendly resource centre called the Rothesay Hive.
