In the NHL playoffs, Edmonton has forced a game 7 with Anaheim after winning 7-1 to tie the series at 3 games each. Leon Draisaitl had three goals and two assists for the Oilers…….Nashville eliminated St. Louis in 6 games with a 3-1 win.

In the Majors, the New York Yankees swept the Chicago Cubs, winning last night in 18 innings, 5-4. The game lasted more than 6 hours and the teams combined for a major league record 48 strikeouts. Former Cub Starlin Castro drove in Aaron Hicks with a fielder’s choice in the 18th inning for the winning run….The Boston Red Sox beat up on Minnesota 17-6. Sandy Leon hit a pair of two run homers for Boston and Chris Sale struck out 10…..Five Blue Jay pitchers held Tampa Bay to three hits in Toronto’s 2-1 win. Darwin Barney hit a tiebreaking homer in the eighth inning for the Jays. In other play, it was Miami 7 NY Mets 0….Milwaukee 6 Pittsburgh 2….St. Louis 6 Atlanta 4 (14 innings)….Baltimore 4 Chicago White Sox 0….Cleveland 1 Kansas City 0…..Philadelphia 6 Washington 5 (10 innings)…..Colorado 5 Arizona 2….Houstin 5 Los Angeles Angels 3….Oakland 8 Detroit 6…..Cincinnati 4 San Francisco 0 and Seattle 4 Texas 3.

The Saint John Riptide downed the Island Storm 107-97 to tie the series at 2 games each with the fifth and deciding game at Harbour Station tomorrow night.

In the NBA playoffs, LeBron James scored 35 points as Cleveland completed a four game sweep of the Toronto Raptors 109-102. Elsewhere, it was Washington 121 Boston 102 to tie up the series at 2 games each……Houston over San Antonio 125-104 to tie that series at 2 games each.
