The provincial government estimates raising the HST could generate $300 million a year in revenue minus $100 million with a credit to minimize the effects on low and middle income New Brunswickers.
An HST credit would be given to anyone with a family income of less than $35,000 a year, $300 for each adult and $100 for each child.
A family of two adults and two children receiving the full credit would receive $800 a year.
