Technology that is new to Canada will help those battling cancer in our region.
The Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation revealing the linear accelerator known as The Edge is new to the oncology department replacing an existing machine.
Dr. Margot Brunnell tells CHSJ News it help cancer patients because it allows techniques they don’t have now.
She says it will allow them to treat patients faster and with more comfort.
The province providing $3.8 million for the purchase of the linear accelerator and $530,000 towards a new isolation room in the medical intensive care unit.
