New Ferry Named Belleisle Belle

This fall you will see a new ferry on Belleisle Bay and it will be called Belleisle Belle.

The name was chosen from a ferry-naming contest and the winning entry from Doug Myers of Quispamsis was selected by members of the LSDs in the area.

Belleisle Belle is a $6.5 million ferry announced by the Gallant government earlier this year.

It is now under construction in the naval centre in Bas-Caraquet and is expected to be operational by the fall.

The current ferry will be shifted to serve Kennebacasis Island which will replace a ferry now being rented at a cost of $750,000.
