No Money This Year To Fix Sand Cove Road

The people whose homes are under threat from slope failure along Sand Cove Road are caught between a rock and a hard place.

Common Council has been told any fix will cost a lot of money and there’s no money in the capital budget this year to do anything about it.

Mort McAllister and his wife, Lois have lived in their home for more than 60 years and had to shore up their back wall which collapsed.

McAllister wants to see a breakwater constructed which is one option for Common Council.

One section of the road west of McLaren’s Beach Road on the way to the Irving Nature Park is down to one lane and a power pole had to be relocated because of erosion.
