It is with great sadness that the family of Alfred “Peter” Joseph Perry announces his passing which occurred at the Carleton Kirk Lodge on Monday, March 16, 2026. Born in Saint John, NB, on February 14, 1938, he was a son of the late Alfred and Emily (Doucet) Perry.
Peter was a longtime member of the Westfield Golf and Country Club and an excellent bowler who participated in several leagues over the years. He was also a member of Carleton Kirk United Church, where he sang in the choir. Known to his grandchildren, their friends, and many others simply as “Da,” he took great pride in watching his grandsons play sports, especially baseball and hockey, and cherished every opportunity to spend time with them. He worked for several years at various liquor stores in the city before continuing his career at the liquor warehouse, where he remained until his retirement.
Peter leaves behind his two daughters, Michelle Perry and Krista Griffin (Mark); sisters, Louise Brown (Bernard), Geraldine “Gerry” Lanteigne (Joseph), Sandra James; grandchildren, Devin Griffin, Dawson Griffin (Katelyn), Gavin Griffin, Aaden Spencer, Wyatt Spencer; great-granddaughter, Savannah Griffin; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Peter was predeceased by his wife, Linda (Clark) Perry; brothers, Fred Davis, John Perry, William Perry; and sister, Doris Perry; brother-in-law, Ronald James; sister-in-law, Jean O’Brien.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7424). A Funeral Service will take place from the Brenan’s Chapel on Friday, March 20, 2026, at 2:00 PM, with reception to follow. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:00 – 2:00 PM. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens in the spring. Donations in memory of Peter may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
