Carl Anthony Arthur Gaudet

June 22, 1964  –  January 17, 2026

It is with great sadness that the family of Carl Anthony Arthur Gaudet announce his passing on Saturday, January 17th at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Carl was born on June 22, 1964 in Saint John, NB to the late Clarence and Constance (Spurr) Gaudet.

Carl will be missed by his siblings; Chris Gaudet (Michele), Coral Makarenko (Shawn), and Cheri Gaudet – Dionne (Marc), niece Nicole Lord (Tyler), nephews; Caleb Gaudet (Abby), Andrew Ewart (Morgan Clark), Matthew Ewart (Lauren Lee), and Jakob Makarenko, 5 great nieces and nephews; Kyran and Alexis Lord, Meredith, Curtis and Penelope Gaudet, and one on the way.

In addition to his parents, Carl was predeceased by 2 nieces; Krystal and Katie Gaudet.

In his youth, Carl proudly received the Scouting Duke of Edinburgh International Award, prompting him to begin a career with the Canadian Military. Later in life he worked for Global Convention Services and the City of Saint John.

Carl loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending a lot of his time camping. This was fostered from an early age, when he camped with his family at Hardings Point. In adulthood, Carl would camp everywhere, driving across Canada on 3 different occasions, however he could often be found in Edmundston, Shediac, Prince Edward Island, and Woodstock. He was a great photographer and took many nature photos on his adventures. Carl also enjoyed listening to country music and going to concerts; his favourite was Stompin’ Boots in New York.

Arrangements are under the care of Castle Fallsview Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John, NB E2M 2L3, 506-634-1701. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM. A Memorial Service will follow immediately in Castle Fallsview Chapel, with interment in Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Carl’s memory can be made to the Rocmaura Foundation, Romero House, Alzheimer’s Society NB, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
