It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Carol (Buchanan) Sullivan, wife of the late Bernard “Bernie” Sullivan, which occurred on Wednesday, May 20, 2026.
Born in 1944, Carol was the daughter of the late Margaret (Hewey) Buchanan and Chester Buchanan. She was a graduate of Saint John Vocational School, Class of 1962. Early in her career, Carol worked for Irving Oil before dedicating herself to being a loving stay-at-home mother and homemaker.
Carol will be dearly missed by her daughter, Kerri (Troy) Titus, and her two cherished granddaughters, Madison Titus and Anna Titus, whom she loved deeply. She is also survived by her sister, Jean (Allen) Cruickshank; brother, James Buchanan; sisters-in-law, Janet (William) Buchanan, Margaret Sullivan, and Jacqueline (Joseph) Ferrar; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Carol was predeceased by her brother, William “Bill” Buchanan, sisters-in-law, Kathy O’Brien and Margaret Cole, and brother-in-law Joseph Ferrar.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424), with visiting on Monday, May 25th from 3:00 – 7:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, May 26th at 11:00 AM. A private interment will take place at Fernhill Cemetery directly following the funeral service.
