September 29, 1967 ~ September 24, 2026 (age 58)
It is with extreme sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Mary Constance “Connie” Mullin announces her passing on September 24, 2026, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on September 29, 1967, in Chatham, New Brunswick, Connie was the daughter of Francis (Suzanne) Mullin and Helen (Don Westhaver) Brennan.
In addition to her parents; Connie will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Gary Button; her children, Lucas Melanson, Leticia Mullin, Michael Button, Jennifer Brown, and Sara Button; her grandchildren, Sophia, Ayden, Kenzie, Amanda, Brayden, Isaac, Kiara, Serena and Colin; and her great-grandchildren; Laiklyn, Jaxon and Jayce. She is also survived by her siblings, Mervyn Mullin (Gerri-Lynn) and Tere Mullin Tulk (Duane) along with several special nieces and nephews.
Connie was a people person who had a way of making connections with those around her. She spent 10 years working as a server at Dolan Road Irving and also worked at K’s Café, where she enjoyed the people she met along the way. She also owned a bar in Shediac, New Brunswick, bringing her love of people and good company into another chapter of her life. Connie was also the original founder of Loyalist City Newschasers, a social media group she created to bring people in our community together. What started as her idea grew to more than 60,000 members, creating a place where people could connect, share information and look out for one another.
Outside of work, Connie had many things she was passionate about. She was an avid and very talented figure skater and took great pride in her gardening, having a true green thumb. She loved her dogs, Boober and Fifi, who held a special place in her heart. Most of all, Connie was someone who thought about others, often putting the needs of those around her before her own. No one ever went hungry when Connie was around.
She will be remembered by her family and friends for her personality, her many talents, her love of animals and gardening, and the way she cared about the people in her life.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the team at Spicer Cole Fine Jewellers for their kindness, generosity and for going above and beyond for Connie and her family. Your thoughtfulness meant more than you know.
A heartfelt thank you is also extended to the doctors, nurses and entire team in the Palliative Care Unit for the care, compassion and kindness shown not only to Connie, but also to her family during her final days.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB (506) 646-2424. In keeping with Connie’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations towards SPCA Animal Rescue would be appreciated.
