It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of David Wesley Breen, which occurred on Saturday, August 22nd, 2026, at Mill Cove Nursing Home. Born on October 8th, 1946, in Saint John, NB, he is the son of the late Walter and Mary (King) Breen. David graduated after completing the Human Services program at St. Thomas University. He moved to Vancouver in the 70’s and spent his career in Social Services. He served his life caring for adults with intellectual disabilities. David was compassionate, eclectic and full of life and surprises. He loved his family, especially his mother Mary. He moved back to Saint John 3 years ago to be close to his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
David is survived by his brother Father Donald Breen of Saint John; as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and friends.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424). As per David’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private graveside service will be held at St. Joseph’s cemetery at a later date. Donations in memory of David may be made to Romero House or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
