December 6, 1965 – July 8, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donald William Luckie on July 8, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Halifax, NS, on December 6, 1965, to the late Donald and Adeline (Prosser) Luckie, and was the loving husband of 26 years to his wife, Susan (Wallace) Luckie.
Don grew up in Nova Scotia until he graduated high school, at which point he moved around, settling into the Saint John area when he was in his early ‘20’s. He went to NBCC to hone his skills as a mechanic and received his certification, working for various automotive companies over the years, ending his career at Grand Bay Car Care 12 years ago. Donald was stubborn, and determined, and he always had a project on the go…finishing those projects was the hard part for him. He loved to tinker on cars and ride his motorcycle. He and Susan loved to travel, having gone to London, Mexico, Ottawa and places in between over the years, and they were always travelling the countrysides on the motorcycle. Donald also joined the army reserves and was a reservist for 3 years. He was a very loving family man, who enjoyed doing things with his children, teaching them things, and just spending time with the whole family. Donald lived life on his own terms but he lived life fully. He was a wonderful man who will be deeply missed.
In addition to his wife, Susan, he is survived by his children, Donald Patrick (Cassie), Michael William, and Alexander George Luckie; his sister, Barb (Eric) Luckie; sister-in-law, Darlene (Reg) Cochrane; as well as several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Michelle (Brian) Taylor.
Arrangements are entrusted to Castle Fallsview Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue (506-634-1701). In keeping with Don’s wishes, cremation will take place and a graveside service will be held at Harding’s Point Cemetery on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at 10am. For those who wish, memorial donations made to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by his family.
