Warrant Officer Ken Voutour was in born Saint John, NB and joined the Canadian Armed Forces as a Medical Assistant in April 1988. After second language training in St Jean, Quebec he was posted to the National Defense Medical Center where he worked for three years.
In 1991 WO Voutour was posted to the Base Hospital C.F.B. Gagetown. In 1997 he was released from the Armed Forces to work as a Paramedic in NB. In 1999 after two years in the civilian health care system, he decided to re-enlist as a medical technician and was posted back to Gagetown.
In 2004 -2006 he was posted to C.F.B. Moncton as a Medical Technician. WO Voutour was then posted to 1 FD Ambulance in Edmonton from 2006-2009. After deploying to Afghanistan, he was posted back to Gagetown.
In 2011-2013 he was posted to CFHSTC Borden to do his Physicians Assistants course. After successfully completing his course, he was posted back to C.F.B. Gagetown clinic where he worked as a Physician Assistant in the Critical Decision Unit. Throughout his career he has deployed to the Winnipeg Floods, British Columbia Fires, Quebec Ice storms, multiple sovereign patrols across the arctic, and was deployed to Afghanistan as a medical Mentor for the Afghanistan Army.
He was an Advanced Cardiac Life Support / Pediatric Advanced Life Support Instructor for over 20 years. He was also an International Trauma Life Support Instructor for over 15 years. He was certified in Advanced Trauma Life Support and the Advanced Military Trauma Resuscitation Program. In 2013 he graduated as class Valedictorian and was successful on Physician Assistant National Certification exam.
Ken will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 30 years, Lynn Voutour, his siblings, Tammy (Steve) Gard and Kerry (Ray) Albert, his sister-in-law, Lisa Pelley (Colin Elliott), he will also be deeply missed by his aunt, Janet Buckley, his uncle, William ‘Bill’ (Susan) Buckley, his many nieces and his nephew, as well as his great niece and great nephew. He was especially adored by his nieces Ashley, Jessica, Jill and Emily who looked up to their uncle Kenny as an exceptional role model and the ultimate prankster. Also left to mourn are his many friends, neighbors and other relatives.
He was predeceased by his parents, Alderic and Darlene Voutour.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424). Visitation will take place at Brenan’s Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 10th from 2:00 – 4:00 PM and 6:00 – 8:00 PM. A Funeral Liturgy will take place at Brenan’s Chapel on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at 10:30 AM. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery following.
