My beautiful mom Lorinda (Lorraine) Bourque fell asleep in death peacefully on Thursday June 25/26 at Palliative Care SJRH with her Family by her side.
She was a wonderful, lovely person adored and loved by many. She was a dear loving mother to my sister Denise Bourque and myself and a wonderful grandmother to Roger Dryden, Trini & Travis Bourque and a loving great grandmother to Corbin & Teliah.
Survived by her older sister Irene (Bernie) Henschel of Hamilton ON and brother Eddy (Noella) Blanchard Saint John NB
She was predeceased by the love of her life husband Roger Alyre Bourque from Grande Digue NB and sisters Lynda Blanchard and Rose (Richard) Webb. Her parents Gertrude Blanchard (Theriault) from Pacquetville NB and Philippe Blanchard from Shippagan NB
She had many nieces and nephews whom she loved very much.
Lorraine was staying at Sea St Lodge at a Special Care Home and was loved and cared for by the staff there. We certainly want to thank them for all the kindness and care they gave to mom.
Lorraine worked at Dominion Stores most of her life. She also worked at Tourism after retirement
She bought her first home in Westvale Park Saint John West and later built a home with her common law partner who predeceased her Leonard Surrette from Grande Digue NB
Lorraine was fun loving, loved to sing and dance. She hosted many house parties on Queen St West. She was active and loved going to open Mike jams including Lorneville on Monday nights and St Joachim’s on Friday nights and many others throughout the years.
She will be dearly missed by many of us
The arrangements are under the care and direction of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. (506 634 1701). Cremation has taken place. A visitation will be held on Thursday July 9, 2026, at Castle Funeral Home from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm. A Mass of Christian burial will he held on Friday July 10, 2026, at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church at 11:00am. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery.
