December 9, 1956 – March 21, 2026
The family of Paul Kyle of Saint John, announce his sudden passing, which occurred on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at his home. Born on December 9, 1956 in Saint John, he was a son of the late Jack and Shirley (Logan) Kyle.
Paul served as a firefighter with the Saint John Fire Department for 37 years, retiring as Lieutenant in 2016. He began his youth coaching career as a teen himself, volunteering for his favourite sports – baseball, softball and hockey – for more than 30 years (whether he had a child on the team or not). Sports were his passion and his love for the Boston Bruins and the KC Chiefs (before they could win), was only surpassed by his pride and love for his children and grandchildren.
In retirement, Paul could be found hiking Rockwood Park or tending his garden, although he rarely ate the delicious vegetables he grew. Through his endeavours, he touched many lives and will be greatly missed.
Paul will be lovingly remembered by his children, Courtenay Kyle (Chris Gosse), Curtis Kyle (Fran Menton), Cara Kyle and Connor Kyle (Grace Lawrence); mother of his children, Janet Kyle; precious grandchildren, Deacon Gosse, Lily and Lucas Kyle; brother, Peter Kyle (Cheryl) and their children, Shannon Lawton (Matt), Lindsay Kyle (Melissa Thibodeau) and Mallory Fleck (Nick); nephew, Logan and niece, Abigail; great-nephew, Landen; as well as great-nieces, Sadie and Evelyn. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Terry Kyle.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (506-634-7424) where visitation will take place on Saturday, March 28, 2026 from 2:00 – 8:00 PM. A Celebration of Paul’s Life will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Sunday, March 29, 2026 at 12:00 PM.
For those who wish, donations may be made to Muscular Dystrophy or your local SPCA.
