Robert John Lavine

November 6, 1945  –  March 26, 2026

With heavy hearts, the family of Robert John Lavine announces his passing, on March 26, 2026, at Bobby’s Hospice. Born on November 6,1945, in Saint John, New Brunswick, Robert was the beloved son of the late Harry Lavine and Helen (nee Daley).

Robert, affectionately known as Bobby or Uncle Bob, had a deep and abiding love for his family. This was quietly shown through his constant presence at his family’s hockey, baseball games, as well as school concerts, and all of life’s meaningful moments. He was truly everyone’s number one fan. He had a gift for appreciating life’s simple, joyful moments, and his contagious laugh could make anyone smile. Our family was truly fortunate to have him as part of our village. In his younger years he spent many summers coaching youth baseball, always emphasizing the importance of sportsmanship and teamwork. In his later years, he could often be found at a local hockey rink or baseball field supporting local community. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love.

Robert is survived by his sister, Diane Scullion (nee Lavine) and many beloved nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.

Robert was predeceased by his parents, brothers, Jack Lavine, Gordon Lavine, Harvey Lavine (Joan), and Frank Lavine (Florence); sister, Margaret Gray (Rodney); niece, Kayla Gray.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Le, Extramural Care and Bobby’s Hospice for their kindness and compassion.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424). For those who wish, remembrances to the Salvation Army or a charity of the donor’s choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
