August 4, 1946 – August 19, 2026
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wayne Douglas Eagles. Born August 4, 1946, Wayne passed away peacefully on August 19, 2026, at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Wayne was a quiet gentleman who found happiness in the simple joys of life. Kind and generous by nature, he had a trusting spirit and a way of making everyone around him feel at ease. Those who knew Wayne will remember him as one of the kindest men they had the pleasure of meeting.
He enjoyed the familiar comforts of a quiet afternoon, often settling in to watch his old Westerns and Turner Classic Movies. Every Sunday, he could be found feeding the ducks, taking the time to enjoy the peaceful routine and talk about the good old days. Wayne also enjoyed playing darts and pool, and while he earned a couple of trophies over the years, he was never one to brag about them.
Wayne took pride in keeping things tidy and clean, and he carried that same care into his everyday life. He spoke fondly of his memories from Toronto, sharing stories of days gone by and the people and places that remained important to him.
Wayne did not need to be the loudest person in the room to leave an impression. His gentle nature, generosity and quiet kindness made him someone people felt comfortable around, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, New Brunswick. (506 – 634 – 7424) In keeping with Wayne’s wishes, no services will be held at this time.
